This is the only ministry I know 
of that does what we say we 
want Kid’s Ministry to do: 
equip parents to be the primary 
spiritual leader of their children. 
Awana is a home discipleship 
program that is reinforced at 
church. This equipping and 
empowering of parents is so 
powerful.

As an Awana ‘lifer’ from the 90s, I can 
attest firsthand to the lasting impact 
Awana has in truly ‘training up a child 
in the way they should go’ (Proverbs 
22:6). God has been faithful through 
generations, and it is such a joy that I 
now have the opportunity not only to 
serve in Sparks, but also to have my own 
daughter in Sparks. It is the greatest 
privilege to watch Awana help shape 
her biblical knowledge and her walk 
with Christ.
